The pinewoods
 The area known as “the Pinewoods” is situated about 2km north of the historic centre of the provincial capital and is connected to it by a footpath lined with trees.
This is a place where young people meet up, where people go for walks and where the elderly may relax. There are also sports and recreation facilities available for people to enjoy in their increasing free time.
The equipped area extends over 16 hectares and includes a series of services such as:
car park (in the adjacent area), benches and tables for picnics, drinking water fountains and toilets. The Footpath is lit at night. The equipped area has a series of footpaths through the vegetation which includes century old native and naturalised species of trees. The names of the avenues and paths in the Pinewoods Park are all taken from gods and mythological heroes and their love stories.
